Would a judge grant joint custody?
Honey, you need to make sure you bring the evidence you have of his addictions and child abuse to court. You need to request supervised visitations from the court. It's great that you want your child to have a dad, but it is much more important to have a living child. He has already abused your child by throwing her into the crib like that, she could have been badly hurt if she had landed wrong. His mother is not safe to be around the child unsupervised either since she is an alcoholic. Get an attorney if you can, but with the proof you have he should not get joint custody. If he does not want to go to treatment or counseling it just shows that he is not willing to stop doing drugs, and that drugs are more important to him then you and your child. Ask the court to require him to get drug testing, etc. Good luck.
