Can Lou Gehrings disease oversensitize one ear?

Two aunts died of LGD in my family and, maybe, more members we don't know about. I have been reading but it is not clear and they don't seem to fully understand this order but they know it is deadly. Both aunts died soon after it hit full force. Neither could talk and were dead in six months. My hearing all messed up and the doctor cannot figure out why. A specialist just pooh poohed the problem. It just happens, he said.
