Christians, Please share your thoughts: Christians Doctorine of original sin?

Now you say that God put Jesus on Earth to atone for all Mans sins, Present, past, future. That God sent Jesus on Earth to be Crucified and then resurrected. So if you believe that your all pure because jesus died for your penalty or whatever, why do so many of you get thrown in jail, or being punished in other ways? I mean you believe you have all been forgiven by the blood of Jesus right? This is rather strange is it not?
