What would you rate this 25 minute SAT essay (1-6)?

If 1 is worst and 6 is best, I'd rate this as above average, i.e. 4 or 5. I found a few things to nitpick - most notably no references, and a rather abrupt beginning and somewhat glib end - which kept it from being perfect in my opinion.
